As a Biomechanics Coach and Sports Massage Therapist it is my job is to help clients move more freely. I'm not a pain specialist although I have been referred to that in the past. I simply want to know if you are moving the way you are supposed to.
However, as a consequence, more often than not, pain is caused by a lack of movement, by muscles being in spasm because they're overworked and by some not doing their job correctly. And so when I help my clients to move more freely, often enough, the pain is reduced.
I don't focus on pain. If I did, I would lose sight of the bigger picture. Because, in the majority of cases, where the pain is, the issue is not.
