It's all about connections!!
Ruby came to me with problems with her sciatic nerve. After a few sessions of working through her pelvis and spine it was apparent that there was something else restricting the nerve.
So we moved onto the shoulders.
We released the upper traps (a muscle in the shoulders) and what we found was that it allowed more movement of the sciatic nerve (20 degrees more to be precise).
How does releasing the shoulders help the sciatic nerve? Truthfully? I haven't the foggiest. I would just be guessing. All I know is the body is connected more than we realise.
So those sciatic symptoms you get (in your legs) may actually be caused by your shoulders!!
And every time I see this for myself I get just a little more excited about how amazingly complicated the body is.
